H2-Markets Winter School 2023 – Project Kick-off in Cairo
The H2-Markets Winter School 2023 marked the official launch of the H2-Markets project and took place from November 25–28, 2023, at the British University in Egypt (BUE) in Cairo. As the first event of the project, it served as an important starting point for academic exchange, institutional networking, and strategic planning.
A delegation from the University of Cologne traveled to Cairo to meet with the project coordinators from the partner universities – the American University in Cairo (AUC), the British University in Egypt (BUE), and Mohammed V University in Morocco. Together, the teams worked on shaping the academic and organizational framework for the project.
The program featured lectures, workshops, and the first joint teaching and learning activities, with a strong focus on hydrogen technologies, sustainable energy systems, and international academic collaboration. The Winter School laid the foundation for future cooperation and set the tone for the project's interdisciplinary and intercultural approach.
A cultural program complemented the academic sessions, offering participants from Cologne valuable insights into Egyptian culture and hospitality.
